AdBlue

AdBlue is a combination of demineralized water with a high content (32.5%) of high-grade urea. It is used in modern diesel engines with an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalytic reduction system. Such systems are installed in cars, trucks, and modern agricultural machinery.

This solution is injected directly into the car's exhaust gases in front of the catalyst, where a chemical reaction occurs, as a result of which harmful nitrogen oxides are converted into harmless water and nitrogen. It is often mistakenly believed that it is an additive to diesel fuel, but AdBlue does not come into contact with diesel fuel in any way. AdBlue is filled into the built-in tank. On average, AdBlue consumption is approximately 5% of fuel consumption, which, depending on the vehicle, is up to 1 L/100 km.
